It's midnight here and I'm doing laundry. It's the only time the machines are free. Tomorrow (today), Gene and I are going to be line-handlers on a big power boat and help them transit the locks. Gene has been once already with a Belgian couple we met in Curacao. I have been tired beyond belief this week and really don’t want to do this. They don’t need me, the ‘wimmin are just there for cookin and such’. Gene really wants me to go and I do need to experience the canal before we go through, and a power boat would be a comfortable way to do it. I will take me bins and check out Lake Gatun. We should leave the marina about 3:00 pm and go out to the ‘flats’. The 'flats' is an anchorage area and the pilot will come aboard there. We will spend the night in Lake Gatun and finish the transit the next day. It’s a good thing we’ll be leaving at 3:00 in the afternoon, I’ll need a nap for sure. I won’t finish the laundry until 1:00am.
I will take the camera and write about the trip.
Well, now that we got the air-conditioner, the electricity in the marina has been off and on. Back to open hatches and mozzies.
